Come and join our CQC outstanding rated Trust as a Bank Mental Health Support Worker, providing you shift flexibility across our services to fill staffing gaps. Due to the nature of the role previous experience of working within mental health is required. Working on the bank will allow you to work across our range of mental health and learning disability services as well as the opportunity to support our local acute hospitals Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Poole Hospital and Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester. You can choose the location and shift patterns that suit you. Shifts can become available up to six weeks in advance, as well as at short notice, so you can plan-ahead or pick up a shift on the day through our electronic system or by speaking with our lovely Bank team. As well as competitive rates of pay you’ll be eligible for many of the benefits offered to substantive staff. What do we need from you? • NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or, • Recent experience within a mental health setting or significant experience within a nursing home/care setting caring for patients with mental health conditions. • Someone used to working independently in a care setting with a minimum level of support • A minimum of three shifts per month • Completion and passing of the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) course. This is a five-day course and must be passed to work within our in-patient settings. (please see link) • Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the Trust. Successful applicants will be invited to a values based assessment and interview day in Wimborne, Dorset on Friday 24th of May 2024; you will need to be available for the full day if invited. You will be required to undertake aPrevention and Management of Violence and Aggressioncourse and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.
